✧ My Story ✧

My path didn’t always include astrology, but it has always revolved around the stars…

I was 15 when our school showed us Interstellar in the auditorium (on a weird projector.) The farm and lab scenes were boring me until they reached the wormhole near Saturn.

As the grainy screen depicted a swirling mass of stars and galaxies, something inside me profoundly shifted. I felt a sense of wonder that I had never felt before. It started a deep interest in astronomy and made me obsessed with blackholes. I realised that I want to become an astrophysicist.

(Btw if you haven’t watched Interstellar, you have to!!! It might just change your life.)

The next deep shift happened when I was 16 and finally had a good math teacher. It made me fall in love with mathematics and made me want to pursue a degree in it too! At this point the career option of astrophysicist had faded because as much as I loved math and astronomy, physics wasn’t nearly as fun for me. So the next decision was to study math and perhaps even get a PhD. Both my parents are (actual) doctors and I thought it would be cute if I was also a ‘doctor’ (in a PhD way.)

When I turned 17 and started applying for universities, I had way too many options. I knew I wanted to study abroad (classic escapism) so I applied to universities in the US and UK. When the university responses came, I was suddenly at a weird crossroads. I could either pursue Applied Mathematics at NYU (yes I’m flexing) or I could pursue a joint honours in Mathematics and Philosophy at KCL. I eventually settled on studying in London since it’s closer to home. Also, studying a humanities-based subject along with mathematics felt like a good way to balance things.

It was only when I was almost 18 that I started doing tarot and got deeper into astrology. There is no big moment that introduced me to these concepts. I had always had an inclination towards spirituality (5 water signs in my chart lol) so it was never hard for me to ‘believe in something greater’. I had always believed in fate (great way to cope with regret: if everything happens for a reason, I can technically make no mistakes!)

As I learned more about astrology, the patterns I had always noticed around me started to make more sense. I had always searched for a sense of meaning and astrology was my answer. The story of life being woven together by the literal stars and planets? How magical! It perfectly blended ‘my math side’ with my poetic and mystical nature.

My education in London went parallel to my astrological studies, and somewhere along the line I started my astrology account!

Living alone at the age of 19 was interesting: weird and stressful, but also fun and exciting. After studying in London for 2 years, I realised:

  1. I do not like living alone in London.

  2. I cannot sustain my business while doing this degree.

I also started to question just how much good I can do for the world with this degree.

These apprehensions were paired with ✨mental health reasons✨ So I dropped out! (baller move imo but I’ve heard mixed opinions)

Since then (for the last four years) I have been focusing on my work full-time! My knowledge has deepened and my practice has evolved. I have learnt so much through books, courses, and lectures. And I have shared my own perspectives in fun ways too! I have done countless readings for clients (both online and in-person) and genuinely gained a deeper understanding of myself, my work, and the life I envision for myself.

In hindsight, it’s really cool how astrology is an odd mix of astronomy, mathematics, and philosophy. It’s perfect for my Mercury in Aquarius + Sun in Pisces !!!

Getting into spirituality truly gave my life more meaning. It filled a void that most of us have in our life. It helped me release a feeling of emptiness that used to prevail no matter what. It truly added more magic and wonder to… everything!

I realised that we often search for meaning in life. Turns out, meaning is everywhere: both within and around us. Meaning exists through us. We are the vessel for magic!

That is exactly what I want to help people realise: magic starts with us. We are the ones who use tools like Tarot or interpret systems like Astrology to experience magic!
