Should teenagers get natal chart readings?

When you’re a teenager and trying to figure out what you want to do in life, everyone wants to help. Your parents deeply care about your future, your school deeply cares about its reputation, and you are stuck somewhere in the middle: trying to make everyone happy. It’s too much pressure on someone who barely knows shit about themselves or their life.

In order to help, schools offer career counselling services. They’re meant to highlight a student’s skills and capabilities, thus helping her choose the perfect degree for herself. But we live in an economy that’s crumbling, and a reality where each individual’s path is unique.

When I had my career counselling session, it was kind of useless. Would a random test determine the path I need to be locked into for the rest of my life? I don’t think so. The only thing that genuinely stuck with me was the lady at the reception simply asking “What’s the one thing you want from life?” She gave her own example and told me that all she’s ever wanted was…a really nice sports car. Good for her, but 16 year old Nivedita had no real answer to that question.

At the time, I had a deep interest in astronomy and math (still do btw.) I eventually ended up going for a degree in mathematics and philosophy in London. In the middle of it, I realised I wanted to do astrology full-time and living in London wasn’t gonna work (for mental health reasons lol.)

So I dropped out!

And I’m very privileged to be able to make these dramatic decisions and still have my parents support me. But this experience made me realise that a lot of time, effort, and MONEY can be saved if teenagers are simply offered natal chart readings. Is that really such a radical concept?

The uncertainty that teenagers face when it comes to their education and career paths can be eased. The money that’s spent on degrees that don’t end up getting used can be saved. The time that goes into living an unaligned life can be reclaimed.

A natal chart reading can deepen your belief in your own skillset. It can affirm things you’ve always had a ‘feeling’ about. It can explain why you’re drawn to your interests. Most importantly, it can help you live a life that’s truly aligned. And people think that living a fulfilling life must happen in your twenties or thirties. But why can’t you start walking the path that’s meant for you as a teenager? Why must money and time be wasted before you start doing what you’re meant to do?

Teenagers require extra support while they’re making important decisions about their life. This support usually comes from friends, family, and counsellors. Adding ‘astrologer’ to this support system broadens their perspective of themselves and what’s possible for them. It re-enchants their worldview and empowers them to stay true to themselves as they navigate their ever-evolving life <3
